Mind-altering work of art:
Mr. Death, film by Errol Morris.

Most memorable/inspirational gig? And why?
Quasi, Valentines Day, 1997 (or ‘98) EJ's. It was a "make it or break it" show in terms of the band staying together, really. Fortunately they made it.

What should everyone shut up about?

Your greatest strength/weakness:
Loyalty, and stubbornness.

Your vital daily ritual

Chocolate and Sheryl Crow.

If I wasn't playing music I would be:
Miserable.

Your most memorable day job:
Counting newspaper stacks at the Eugene Register-Guard.

Best/worst advice received:

What makes you want to take it off and get it on?
The Pixies, Marvin Gaye, mix tapes.

What personal trait would make you kick someone out of your band and/or bed? And have you?

When I think of Canada I think:
"Blame Canada!"

Music and sex: Is there a difference? Why?
There are probably as many moods and nuances to both, but with music you have the screen of performance to hide behind.

Strangest brush with celebrity:
I met John Cusack in an elevator. He introduced himself as "Johnny."

What does your mom wish you were doing instead?
She wishes I was a lawyer, or had any kind of "regular" job. But she's also supportive.
