Vancouver indie-rock trio the Courtneys are on the cusp of releasing their self-titled LP on Hockey Dad Records, but you can stream the summery song cycle now ahead of its June 7 street date courtesy of Exclaim!
As previously reported, the eight-song LP was recorded at the Noise Floor studio in Ladysmith, BC, with producer Jordan Koop (Peace, Babysitter, Needles//Pins) and features a mix of new tunes and tweaked-up versions of tracks that appeared on their cassette for Green Burrito.
A press release notes that the album focuses on "endlessly fun indie pop," and you can suss out the accuracy of that statement by streaming tracks like oceanside jangler "90210," the Blake Babies-conjuring "Manion" and the how-to guide for making a kickin' pair of cut-offs, "Dead Dog."
The Courtneys play a record release party for their LP on June 7 at Vancouver's Astoria Hotel as part of Music Waste.
