Craig Finn of the Hold Steady has announced his fifth solo album, Always Been, arriving on April 4 through Tamarac Recordings / Thirty Tigers.

"I believe this to be the most narrative record I have made," Finn shared in a release. "Most songs concern a protagonist who pursued a career as a clergyman despite a lack of faith. The record tells the story of his rise and fall and redemption, while also filling out the details of his travels and the world in which he lives. I am very proud of what we made, I hope you enjoy."

Today, he's shared lead single "People of Substance," which arrives alongside a music video by David Kelling. Watch that below, where you'll also find the album's tracklist.

Finn will take the new record on tour in April, supporting Bob Mould. He's yet to book any Canadian dates.
