The Creepshow's Endless Road

"Downtime has been good, but it's always the same," says Creepshow vocalist/guitarist Sarah "Sin" Blackwood. "After about two weeks we all get that itch. And after three weeks our pockets are empty and we're like 'Okay, we need to go back on tour, I am going crazy and I am broke."

The psychobilly band formed four years ago in Burlington, ON with Sean "Sickboy" McNab (ex-Jersey) on upright bass and back-up vox, the Reverend McGuinty on organ and backup vox, Matt "Palmade" Gee on drums and Jen "Hellcat" Blackwood on vocals and guitar. They released their debut album Sell Your Soul in 2006, before Jen got pregnant and was replaced by her younger sister.

On the eve of Hellcat Records' re-release of last year's Run For Your Life, the Creepshow are back in the van once again this month; as well, Blackwood will head oversees next year to support her more country-influenced solo album Way Back Home. It's all helped them become a cohesive, level headed touring machine. "We started out as a rusty little pony, and now we got an engine, some wheels, and some fuel," she says.

Hellcat's support certainly helps keep their psychobilly freight train on the rails. "We're still broke, we're still touring our asses off, but now we have a little more support." Not to mention connections. "I am hoping [Hellcat co-founder] Tim [Armstrong, of Rancid] will sing on our new record."
