Crosss

The dreary grunge pop that Crosss filled the Seahorse Tavern with kept a packed room surprisingly attentive. Surprising not because it wasn't good, but because, while wonderfully woozy and loud, the band were possibly a bit challenging for the unacquainted. The lo-fi psychedelic sounds Crosss aim for on record hit a little harder in a live setting, making the songs sound brighter, and the band's amiable — if not a little reserved — stage presence gave a new dynamic to the songs as well. The Rick White-influenced tracks almost took on a slowed-down Nirvana-esque vibe on stage, and it was a good way to hear them.
