D-Sisive

"Bozo Nightmare"

The release date for D-Sisive's mixtape The Great Mr. Nobody was originally pegged as September 16, but that date has come and gone, and the collection still isn't here. Luckily, the Canuck rapper is tiding us over by sharing the cut "Bozo Nightmare."

If the song's title sounds a bit familiar, that's because it comes from a lyric from Beck's "Loser." Appropriately, the beat is lifted directly from "Loser," right down the slide licks, sitar-esque overdubs and "soy un perdedor" chorus. There's also a bit nabbed from Beck's "Novocane," and D-Sisive also cites N.W.A.'s "8-Ball" as the source of the final verse.

Although The Great Mr. Nobody is currently listed as coming out on "September something," D-Sisive will be throwing a release party tonight (September 19) at Rancho Relaxo in Toronto. Cover is $5 and Swamp Thing, Def 3, Factor, Wordburglar and others also also on the bill.
