Daft Punk haven't toured behind their beloved Random Access Memories, and even those planned slots on The Colbert Report and MTV's VMAs ultimately didn't yield a live performance. That may finally change in January, since the legendary French electronic duo are apparently among the performers at next month's Grammy Awards.
We don't know much about what Daft Punk have planned for the show, but it seems likely that they will perform "Get Lucky," since that song is up for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The band are nominated for five awards in total.
Grammy exec Ken Ehrlich told Rolling Stone that Daft Punk's appearance will be "a collaborative and celebratory stage performance that honours their multi-nominated music." The pair's previous televised performance was way back in 2008, when they played with Kanye West at that year's Grammys.
Other confirmed performers for 2014 include Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons, Pink with fun.'s Nate Ruess, and a collaborative appearance from Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton. The event will be hosted by LL Cool J.
The 56th Grammy Awards take place on January 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It will air on CBS. Read up on the nominees here.
