Daft Punk Plan to Remix 'Random Access Memories'

Despite the endless amount of pride that must come with gracing the cover of Exclaim!, robotic dance music champions Daft Punk have faced some mixed reactions for their new album Random Access Memories, as some have wished it would share more with their electronic past. That may now happen, as the duo have announced plans to remix the release.

Speaking with BBC Radio 1, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo announced that, rather than recruit others to remix their work, they'll take on the task themselves.

"We're working on some mixes ourselves," Bangalter said. "So, yes, there will probably be Daft Punk mixes of Daft Punk. Usually, we never mix ourselves, that's something we feel we're interested in doing this time."

As might be expected, the plan is to start with their ubiquitous disco hit "Get Lucky." The remix is expected to be out at the end of June, meaning those who complained about Random Access Memories can have a chance to enjoy the song, while those who loved it can complain that it now sounds too much like EDM.
