If you've ever wondered what exactly makes helmeted dance duo Daft Punk tick, you're in luck, as it's been unveiled that the French Touch favourites will be the subjects of a TV documentary next year.
Variety reports that BBC Worldwide has commissioned Canal Plus to produce a one-hour special on the band, with the premiere expected to air sometime in 2015.
The as-yet-untitled film is being directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre and co-written by Marina Rozenman, and will focus on Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo's career. Not quite like the legend of the phoenix, the film will chart Daft Punk's formation in the early '90s, to their breaking out of Europe's house scene and racking up millions of record sales, ahem, around the world.
It's unclear at present if the producers will get lucky and interview Bangalter and Homem-Christo without their helmets for the project, or at all, with the duo not yet having announced the film on their end. Here's hoping we get at least a few statements from the duo about their massive 2013 LP Random Access Memories, though, possibly delivered through a robotocized vocoder.
