Danger Mouse (a.k.a. Brian Burton) has made a major impact on the pop world over the last several years, whether working on projects like Broken Bells and Gnarls Barkley, or producing albums for artists including the Black Keys and A$AP Rocky. He'll next be approaching the game as a label owner, having just announced the arrival of his own boutique imprint: 30th Century Records.
A press release confirms that Burton has started up his own record company, which will be distributed through Columbia Records. 30th Century Records will be overseen by the prolific musician/producer, who will be signing the talent himself. It's unclear if this also means he'll be heading into the studio with his 30th Century acts.
Details are still forthcoming on the roster, but the first official 30th Century Records signing is Los Angeles unit Autolux. The band are apparently in the midst of prepping a follow-up to their 2010 effort, Transit Transit.
Forthcoming Danger Mouse-approved projects will no doubt be revealed at a later date.
Recently, Danger Mouse sat behind the boards as a co-producer on A$AP Rocky's At.Long.Last.A$AP LP. It was revealed a while back that he might be working on an album with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, though no concrete details have surfaced since Flea announced they were hitting the studio together last January.
