Daniel Lanois Cancels European Tour After Motorcycle Accident

Daniel Lanois is a man of many talents. In addition to being an accomplished singer-songwriter and the owner of Red Floor Records, the Hull, QC-born musician is one of the world's preeminent producers, having worked with U2, Bob Dylan, Brian Eno and Peter Gabriel, among many others.

On Saturday (June 5), Lanois was in a serious motorcycle accident in Los Angeles that landed him in the hospital. He was due to embark upon a European tour next month, but now all of his upcoming shows have been cancelled.

A press release reveals, "Lanois suffered multiple injuries, but is expected to be released from intensive care soon. Due to the severity of the injuries, Lanois has cancelled all upcoming tour dates and promotional activity and will be recuperating for the next two months."

The press release also confirms that Lanois's latest side-project, the Jive Records-signed Black Dub, "will release their debut album when circumstances permit."
