When Toronto rockers Danko Jones delivered the jam-packed double-DVD Bring On the Mountain earlier this year, the long-running group hinted at a new album being on the way. True to their word, the band will drop their sixth full-length this fall. It's called Rock and Roll Is Black and Blue and arrives September 18.
A tracklisting has yet to be posted, but the album is said to feature 13 new tunes, with first single "Just a Beautiful Day" to be issued sometime soon. The LP, which follows 2010's Below the Belt, was produced by longtime studio collaborator Matt Matteo and was mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Franz Ferdinand, Elvis Costello).
Rock and Roll Is Black and Blue is also notable for being the first Danko Jones album to feature former Rocket From the Crypt drummer Atom Willard behind the kit. He joined the trio last summer.
Danko Jones have a few European dates to get through in August, not to mention a lengthy tour in October and November, and North American tour info is expected to be revealed in the near future. In the meantime, you can check those European dates over here.
