David Bazan Collects Single Series Songs for 'Blanco'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 30, 2016

After issuing two rounds of his "Bazan Monthly" 7-inch series, Pacific Northwest indie mainstay David Bazan has announced he's collecting the cream of the crop for a new album called Blanco. The record arrives May 13 through Barsuk.

A press release explains that the album follows the 2014 and 2015 editions of his self-released "Bazan Monthly" series, which served up 10 7-inch records. It's explained that Bazan opted to "update, remix and flesh out" some of these songs for the upcoming album release. The 10-track Blanco features songs initially spread across both volumes of the singles series.

You can check out the record's super synthy "Trouble with Boys" over at Paste. The song had initially been offered up in November 2014 as part of the first volume of "Bazan Monthly," as the B-side to "Disappearing Ink." The other track does not appear on Blanco.

Pre-orders for Blanco on CD, vinyl and cassette are up now. A deluxe edition adds a poster, slip mat, shirt, full digital download and more to your format of choice. You can find out more info over here.

In addition to the upcoming album release, Bazan has a number of North American tour dates on the horizon. His trek takes place from June to August, with Canadian shows to take place in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver. You'll find all of the date and venue details below.
