Following last week's news that Roger Waters is prepping his first solo rock album in 21 years, it's now been revealed that his old Pink Floyd band-bud David Gilmour has a new record coming down the pipeline as well.
News of the LP came via Graham Nash, who explained to the Needle Time program [via Consequence of Sound], that both he and fellow CSNY partner David Crosby are heading out to the UK to record in the studio with Gilmour.
"What the hell would it cost you to have David Crosby and Graham Nash getting on a bloody train to Brighton to sing with you?" Nash said, though apparently the pair will be doing the sessions pro bono. "We're musicians. We love good songs. We'll sing them until we are dead."
Details beyond that are slim, with no title nor a projected arrival time having been let loose just yet.
Nash and Crosby have teamed up with Gilmour before, singing on the title track to the Pink Floyd guitarist's last LP, 2006's On an Island, as well as on select tour dates behind the set. Nash and Gilmour had also written "Hymns to the Sun" with the Orb's Alex Paterson and Martin "Youth" Glover for the Orb's 2010 set Metallic Spheres.
