Dead Man's Bones

"Gak! Not another actor's lame vanity musical project. Won't they ever learn that acting like a rock star doesn't actually make you one?"

Yeah, I know. I was ready to hate all over this track too. I mean, come on – the guy that used to bang Rachel McAdams? But for every Notebook that Ryan Gosling's made, he's got a Lars and the Real Girl or Half Nelson under his belt. So maybe we shouldn't be so surprised that London, Ontario native's foray into the music world isn't an embarrassing mess. In fact it's actually quite good. It's so good in fact the folks over at Anti-, home of Tom Waits, Neko Case and Nick Cave have added Dead Man's Bones to their roster.

The track itself is best described as gothic-folk with a bunch of spooky sounding kids singing in the background. It kind of reminds me of something they would have worked into one of the early Halloween films. So props to Gosling for proving us all wrong. Keep up the good work kid.
