Dead Poetic

It is kind of hard not to love the Ohio-based Dead Poetic. With their post-hardcore sensibility and boyish good looks, this band has all the ingredients to become the next important band in the emo/hardcore scene. Crunching guitars are matched with simple yet infectious melodies, and the clean pop vocals are sometimes contrasted by thick, throaty screams. Like Thursday's little brother, Dead Poetic hops along from song to song with mature and sophisticated songwriting. Sewn through all the distorted guitars and vocal harmonies are the band's devoutly Christian beliefs, which often exhibit themselves in the impulsive and angst-ridden lyrics. Religion aside, Dead Poetic is a screamo must-listen, especially for fans of At The Drive-In or Grade.
