Aggro rap experimenters Death Grips became label-less last year after sabotaging their relationship with Epic Records by dropping their No Love Deep Web for free and sharing personal emails. Now, the Sacramento outfit will try their hand at running their own imprint, which will be called Thirdworlds. That's the label's logo up above.
A press release explains that while the band have begun their own record company, the business venture is brought to you by a "very unique relationship with Harvest/Capitol, to be distributed by Caroline." It's unclear how much involvement the larger companies will have with Thirdworlds, but this seemingly means it's not strictly a D.I.Y. affair.
While details are pending, Death Grips are apparently in the midst of prepping a new LP that is tentatively set to be released sometime in 2014. As previously reported, drummer Zach Hill is also currently writing, directing and soundtracking an original feature film. While the movie was previously described as "fictionally based and not related to the group," it will apparently be "soundtracked with all new Death Grips music."
While you wait for new tunes, why not check out this recent video of Hill frenetically mangling his kit while hand-cuffed?
