As promised, Death Waltz Recording Company has now shared the full details behind its long-in-the-works reissue of the Twin Peaks soundtrack.
Due out on September 9, the vinyl reissue will feature the cover art above, with the record arriving in a gatefold sleeve featuring lyrics and liner notes from Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalamenti. According to the announcement on Welcome to Twin Peaks, "The gatefold sleeve is housed within a bespoke die cut outer jacket designed by Mondo's Jay Shaw featuring super subtle white spot varnish text."
The cover itself was designed by Sam Smith and approved by director David Lynch. The vinyl, meanwhile, has been pressed on "damn fine coffee" wax. There will be only this one version of the record, with no variants.
And while the reissue features no bonus tracks, it's also added that "Death Waltz went back to the Warner archives where Tal Miller cut brand new vinyl masters, and then worked with Rainbo to press the record on 180g vinyl for the best possible sound quality."
"I'm glad that after 25 years, Death Waltz Recording Company has re-released the original soundtrack for Twin Peaks for a new audience to enjoy," Angelo Badalamenti said in a statement. "This is my defining work as a composer and I'm happy it will get a fresh listen."
You can see the tracklist below.
