Hot on the heels of Jubilee, rootsy Canadians the Deep Dark Woods have shared a video for that album's "18th of December."
The Jeremy Power Regimbal-directed video for this twangy, country-tinged folk rock number shows a young couple on a wild road trip that includes hitchhiking, a dine and dash crime, a break-in, grand theft auto, violent assault and more. Ultimately, the pair's bad ways come back to haunt them as members of the Deep Dark Woods take it upon themselves to hunt the couple down.
There's apparently a metaphorical meaning to all this. According to a press release, "The video suggests that life for a touring musician can turn you into something of a runaway, stealing moments of peace and beauty in the midst of relentless pressures of schedules and dreams."
Jubilee is out through Six Shooter Records.
