Deep Dish/Various

Toronto #025

BY Romina WendellPublished Oct 1, 2003

Two years after their Moscow Mix 2001, Deep Dish (DJ’s Shara Tayebi and Ali Shirazinia aka Dubfire) return their steely beats and funkified house to the Global Underground series. Marking the label’s 25th excursion onto the global dance floor, Toronto #025 mixes high energy and deep vocal house with funky subterranean grooves. Featuring tracks from Luke Fair, Sultan, Tone Depth and Max Graham, the double CD ripples out in a deep but ceaseless thump. Make no mistake though, this is a seriously housified selection. The deepness of the Deep Dish groove remains however, and through it all propels the selections with a luscious hustle from aerobic rhythms to soulful house numbers, providing a solid groove oriented showcase of Northern talent.
