Deftones are for lovers. We've known this, but science has confirmed it: a new study from ZipHealth found that the band's music is the most frequent heavy metal soundtrack to love-making.
ZipHealth is an online doctor and prescription-filling service, making it a very reputable source for probably human data. The platform surveyed 1,000 participants about what genres and artists were populating their getting-it-on playlists, with pop music and the Weeknd being the most popular in those respective categories (damn, even after The Idol?). The most popular song overall? Nicki Minaj's "Super Freaky Girl," which definitely doesn't seem like it's trying to compensate for anything.
Not only were Deftones the most popular metal band for headboard-banging (ahead of Slipknot and System of a Down), but they were also the third most-streamed sexy-time artist overall, trailing only the Weeknd and, uh, Kanye West. Not sure what this means for your sex lives, but y'all sure seem really good at separating the art from the artist; congrats, I guess.
Deftones were also among the top five artists included in playlists with the keywords "BDSM" and "sex" in the title. Enjoy the other dirty data details by checking out the study in full here.
