23 years is an impressive lifespan for a death metal band. Most would disband or suffer some major line-up change resulting in a hollow image of who they once were, their magnum opus having already been recorded. Then there is Deicide, a band that has survived on blasphemy alone. After consistently writing some of the best death metal over the last two decades, the band's new release, In the Minds of Evil, maintains the same quality of profane sacrilege that fans come to expect from Deicide. The whole mood of the album is as intense, as the opening riff to "In The Minds of Evil" suggests. While it shouldn't be the first Deicide album you listen to, In the Minds of Evil is a powerful addition to the band's discography and definitely worth a listen.
