Last week, Depeche Mode finally revealed the details of their long-pending new LP, Delta Machine, and now the band have offered up a preview of the song cycle via a stream of new single "Heaven."
While David Gahan may allude to singing in joy on the song, "Heaven" rides out on a sorrowful melange of airy piano plunks, fuzzed-out guitar crawls and an old-school drum machine beat. You can check out the powerfully gloomy cut at Vimeo.
As previously reported, "Heaven" arrives as a single on February 5, and will be packaged with remixes from Matthew Dear, Blawan, Owlle, and Steps to Heaven. Delta Machine, meanwhile, drops March 26 through Columbia.
