The Exclaim! team was plenty pumped when it was announced kindred spirits the Detroit Cobras and Chains of Love were teaming up for some Canadian tour dates, but it looks as if that dream was too good to be true. A press release from the Cobras has announced that all the Canadian dates have been cancelled.
A reason hasn't been given as to why the headlining act pulled out of the string of performances, with the status of the band's upcoming U.S. shows a bit up in the air. The group's press agent, however, explained that the Detroit Cobras' New York dates in Buffalo on July 19 and in New York City on July 22 should still be a go.
Having not made an announcement of their own, it's unclear at present if Chains of Love will appear at any of the previously scheduled gigs. They did, however, upload a tour poster earlier this week listing the existing dates sans mention of venues or the Detroit Cobras via their Facebook page.
