Devours is gearing up to release his new double album Escape from Planet Devours later this month, and to give it one last push, the Vancouver artist has shared a pair of new tracks off the record.
Today you can dive into the new album cuts "Death Is a B-Side" and "Lightning at Your Funeral," which have both arrived with their own lyric videos.
While "Death Is a B-Side" takes a more ballad-type approach, "Lightning at Your Funeral" is much more punk.
Of the latest teasers, Devours mastermind Jeff Cancade explained the following:
My new double album is about escape. "Death Is a B-Side" and "Lightning at Your Funeral," in particular, are about escaping from poisonous relationships. The former is about trying — and failing — to convince a same-sex partner to escape from heteronormativity, and the latter is about struggling to escape from an abusive relationship.

As previously reported, Escape from Planet Devours is due out on May 14 via Cancade's own newly launched label surviving the game. The album marks the third proper studio effort from Devours and the first from Cancade since his 2020 album as the Golden Age of Wrestling.
