Whether or not you liked his Snake Oil LP, there's no denying Diplo's commitment to the bit of being a cowboy. The former EDM superstar has levelled up his country-fried cred by buying up a mansion formerly owned by one Kid Rock.
As Variety reports, Diplo's new dude ranch is a $13.2 million USD mansion in the sought-after Point Dume neighbourhood of Malibu.
Kid Rock had been trying to sell it for years after purchasing it in 2006 before finding a buyer in 2013 in Los Angeles businessman Ryan Somers. He made a near $4 million profit flipping it to Diplo three years after he bought it.
The home does not give off much "bawitdaba" energy. Instead, it's a pristine 8,305 square foot escape that boasts plenty of wood panelling and beautiful light.
Still, it's an ironic transfer of property considering Diplo's request at the beginning of his cowboy phase:
