We're a long way from Florida: the latest bit of oceanic expedition for the wealthy will see Diplo host a weeklong luxury cruise to Antarctica alongside other "artists and creatives" in the name of "complete wellness immersion."

This December, the Major Lazer, Jack Ü and Silk City player will take part in a seven-day, six-night cruise to the South Pole, an undertaking organized by the ambient music-minded healers at Secular Sabbath, the artist's own label imprint Higher Ground and boutique travel company Insider Expeditions.

Music-centric cruises aren't a particularly new idea, but few have sounded like one "where every aspect has been curated for the deepest transformational experience," per the expedition website.

For a minimum of $15,999 USD, voyagers are offered a ticket into "a world of wellness, nature, and unbridled creativity," realized through onboard live performances — including "an intimate round table Q&A with Diplo, artists, and industry professionals about the creative process and business of music" — ambient music heard around the clock, "wellness opportunities" like early morning tea ceremonies, sound baths, yoga, and breathwork, and a 24/7 open bar.

The promotional copy also mentions how the cruise aboard the purpose-built passenger ship the World Voyager (which should have been named Shiplo) will bring together "a multitude of musical artists and DJs" apart from Diplo, and as Stereogum notes, the only additional artist named in the material was Rhye's Michael Milosh — though the moniker of the lawsuit-mired Canadian has since been removed from the expedition website.

"As you immerse yourself in this unique musical journey, you will discover that it is more than just a trip — it is an opportunity to dive deep into a transformative experience that will leave an indelible mark on your soul," the site reads, and as I write this on dry land above the equator, I think about how I won't feel bad about reaching for the thesaurus ever again.

Diplo released his self-titled fourth album last year, featuring work with Lil Yachty, Miguel, Busta Rhymes and more. 2020 also saw him release a country album as Thomas Wesley — an effort Exclaim! felt was "unmistakable cash grab" that the world could use an ambient, Antarctic healing journey to recover from.
