Dirty Beaches and Apollo Ghosts' Adrian Teacher Release New Album as Masterchef

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 29, 2011

Apollo Ghosts singer Adrian Teacher and Dirty Beaches mastermind Alex Zhang Hungtai are both celebrated members of Vancouver's underground music scene, so it's only natural that they should team up. The two have a band together called Masterchef, and the duo have just released a new album.

Entitled Mae Mae, the all-instrumental collection is available now as a free download. The eight ultra-lo-fi tracks range from ambient synth jams to gritty guitar rockers, bearing the distinct stamp of both songwriters. See the tracklist below, and get the album right here.

This summer, Apollo Ghosts will briefly tour Maritime Canada. They will be playing shows with East Coast favourites Dog Day and Boxer the Horse. Scroll past the tracklist to check out the schedule.

At the bottom of the page is the scratchy new video for the song "For What They Do, They Do," which is the title track off Apollo Ghosts' recent EP of the same name.
