At long last, Dirty Projectors have cemented the details of their first Domino full-length. For this one, the art-rockin' Brooklynites are going with the title Bitte Orca, the release date of June 9 and likely some kind of yet-to-be-disclosed eccentric little concept.
Along with this follow-up to 2007's Rise Above, the band have a teaser release lined up as well. It's the single to the album track "Stillness Is the Move" and will come digitally and on twelve-inch on April 21. On it are a few B-sides and remixes, including one by Lucky Dragons, and it apparently will replace the Byond Uquafina twelve-inch, which contrary to our previous report, has been scrapped.
There is still no word on when we can expect that second Dirty Projectors album scheduled for release via Dead Oceans. However, head Projector David Longstreth is debuting a new musical piece he composed for Bang on a Can in New York on April 2, and the band are playing several live dates in the coming weeks, though none in Canada.
