It's not like Brooklyn-based odd poppers Dirty Projectors have been m.i.a. since the release of their 2009 breakthrough Bitte Orca. Since then, the band released a two-song seven-inch, not to mention a collaborative EP with Björk, but fans have no doubt been waiting patiently for another full-length from mastermind Dave Longstreth and the rest of the art-damaged rock troupe. Looks as if we might not have to wait much longer, as the band announced they will be hitting the studio soon.
A post on the group's Facebook page points to a recent burst of activity within the Projectors' camp.
"hey all, dave longstreth has been working on new songs since january, and we are all getting really psyched!" the statement reads. "the band is getting together later this month to hang, listen and prepare. recording this summer. so excited for the next chapter! thanks so much for all your support."
While it's too early to tell when the album will be released, the tidbit at least confirms that there will be some Dirty Projectors material to look forward to in the near future.
