Brooklyn pop eclectics (and current Exclaim! cover stars) Dirty Projectors have a new album, Swing Lo Magellan, coming out on Tuesday (July 10) through Domino, but it turns out that the LP isn't the only new music the band have on the way. They've also prepped a new tour-only seven-inch, which they'll be releasing in limited form.
As Consequence of Sound points out, the band posted a picture on Instagram showing a seven-inch record displaying the track title "Buckle Up." The accompanying message noted that the single includes "two new unreleased tracks."
UPDATE: The B-side is called "Desire to Love."
So how do you get your hands on a copy? Well, 200 singles will be given away to fans who show up to Dirty Projectors' release day show at Prospect Park in Brooklyn on Tuesday. The band's message suggests that these 200 copies may be the only time the single is ever available, and they wrote, "check back for password & details." So you might want to keep your eyes peeled to their Twitter account to learn more.
Frontman Dave Longstreth told Exclaim! that they have heaps of extra tracks left over from the Swing Lo Magellan sessions, so we may well be hearing yet more outtakes before long.
There's no word as to whether any more copies will be available at other dates on the tour. But see the schedule below, and take note of Canuck stops in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
