Dixie Chicks were slated to release new album Gaslighter tomorrow (May 1), which would have marked their first new full-length in 14 years. In spite of the decision to postpone its release, the trio have now shared a new song from the album.
Today, Dixie Chicks shared "Julianna Calm Down" through IGTV. Produced by Jack Antonoff, the song offers encouraging words to women in manipulative relationships.
Vocalist Natalie Maines sings, "I guess this is the time to remind you / Sometimes what's going through your head / Is just a temporary situation / And light will soon be shed," ahead of advising, "Put on your best shoes, and strut the fuck around like you've got nothing to lose."
"Julianna Calm Down" will be the ninth track on Gaslighter. You can watch a lyric video for the song below. Dixie Chicks shared the album's title track back in March.
Gaslighter has yet to receive a new release date. Whenever it arrives, the album will follow Dixie Chicks' 2006 album Taking the Long Way. The group have collaborated with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift in recent years.
