Dizzee Rascal's New CD Denied a Release in the U.S. - But Not in Canada!

BY Cam LindsayPublished May 23, 2007

Billboard.com is reporting that Dizzee Rascal's forthcoming album, Maths & English will only be released stateside through the digital and vinyl format - excluding the compact disc.

Despite a lot of online buzz, Dizzee's third album (featuring hip-hop duo UKG and Lily Allen) has been temporarily shelved on CD because of disappointing U.S. sales for his last album, 2004's Showtime in comparison to his Mercury Prize-winning debut, 2003's Boy in the Corner.

Bad news for Americans yes, but good news for Canadians: "Canada is definitely doing CD, 2xLP and digital," says Beggars Canada's Ronan O'Leary. Beggars Canada will release the album through XL Recordings on all formats as scheduled, on June 5.

So there you go. To all the Yanks looking to get the album cheap, come on up and stimulate our economy!
