Techno is the name of the game on this 70-minute mix by London DJ C1. The bass lines are funky and the melodies are either non-existent or played by strings. For the most part the beats follow the four-on-the-floor pattern, with varying degrees of complexity. Most of the tracks are from the last year or two and come from techno’s heaviest hitters, such as Jeff Mills, Oxia, Airfrog and Heiko Laux. Throughout, the mix is upbeat and maintains its funkiness. And that’s about it really, nothing spectacular, just proper techno.
