Chicago's DJ Slugo has teamed up with New York-based electronic musician Nicolas Jaar for a new track called "GHETTO."
The track is an eight-minute spoken word piece from Slugo, over a fast-moving beat from Jaar and was issued by Jaar's own Other People imprint.
According to the duo, the song was made "in light of recent events" and recorded over the course of a day. The beat was laid down on a "cold but sunny morning" by Jaar in New York and immediately sent off to Slugo, who delivered the vocals.
The powerful message mixed with an entrancing beat make it well worth a listen. Give it a spin below.
