Airick Woodhead's Doldrums project released The Air Conditioned Nightmare last year, then followed it up with an bonus track called "I Don't Wanna Be Deleted." Now, he's unveiled a brand new track called "Gerbil."
Despite its rodent-inspired title, the track is far from cute and cuddly. A glitched-out barrage of synths and pounding drum beats drives it forward, though meandering breaks and breakdowns do make it feel reminiscent of a gerbil bouncing from wall to wall within the safety of a plastic ball.
The track was posted to SoundCloud with the simple caption "needs rap," but you can hear it in its raw instrumental form right now in the player below.
