Download New Nine Inch Nails Album Right Now... For Free

BY Cam LindsayPublished May 5, 2008

It appears Trent Reznor has gone and pulled another "Radiohead,” or can we finally give him some credit and just call it a "Nine Inch Nails,” since he has done this before? The once idle but now ridiculously prolific force behind Nine Inch Nails elated fans this morning with an announcement on his website that a brand new Nine Inch Nails studio album was available to download for free. Yeah, it costs you nada, other than your email address, which you need to get the download link sent to you.

Produced by long-time producer Alan Moulder, The Slip, NIN’s eighth studio album and third in 13 months, returns to 2007’s Year Zero, leaving behind Ghosts' ambient experimentation for that visceral, industrial-lite, arena alt-rock we all prefer. And to those out there who still haven’t welcomed digital music into their lives, Reznor will release the album traditionally in the summer, according to his post on the website, which reads:

as a thank you to our fans for your continued support, we are giving away the new nine inch nails album one hundred percent free, exclusively via nin.com.

the music is available in a variety of formats including high-quality MP3, FLAC or M4A lossless at CD quality and even higher-than-CD quality 24/96 WAVE. your link will include all options - all free. all downloads include a PDF with artwork and credits.

for those of you interested in physical products, fear not. we plan to make a version of this release available on CD and vinyl in july. details coming soon.
