When we told you Dr. Dre's long-awaited Detox record was delayed back in November of '08, we had no idea we'd still be waiting for a release date eight months later. But here we are, in the summer of '09, with still no Detox in sight. To ease the pain, though, Death Row Records has announced that the newly resurrected label will be reissuing Dre's solo debut, 1992's The Chronic.
Due out on September 1, the reissue is called The Chronic: Re Lit & From the Vault. The set will include a remaster of the entire album, along with extended liner notes from Quincy Jones III. It will also come with From the Vault, a DVD that includes music videos, promotional vids and a rare, unreleased interview with the hip-hop great.
The package will also come with unreleased and rare tracks from Snoop Doggy Dogg (back when his name was longer and cheesier), Kurupt, CPO and Jewell.
