While he will probably be remembered as the auteur of such heralded R&B hits as Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" and Rihanna's "Umbrella," The-Dream has carved out a smashing solo career of his own over the years. While last year's phenomenal Love King, an outrageous collection of adulterous sex suites and smooth yet sparse synth-and-snap beat arrangements, was initially touted as his last studio set, the super-producer has decided to come back for more. Enter new album, The Love, IV (Diary of a Mad Man).
Primed for a September 20 release, which happens to be The-Dream's birthday, the album is said to feature a number of notable guests, including Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Drake, Mary J. Blige, and Dr. Dre. The first single "T.T.S." features fellow questionable playboy R. Kelly and is expected to drop soon.
While a full tracklisting has yet to be revealed, expect more songs about romancing your girl, then cheating on your girl and then dropping a few stacks to buy her something nice to make up for it. It's sleazy, but somehow dude makes it work.
In the meantime, you can sample The-Dream's production work on recent Beyoncé singles "1+1" and "Run the World (Girls)."
Thanks to HipHopDX for the tip.
