Rock'n'roll cheeseballs Eagles of Death Metal are pulling their Zipper Down with a new album on October 2 via T-Boy/UMe, and in the meantime, they're giving us a little tease by pulling out "Silverlake (K.S.O.F.M.)."
The song is filled with references to the "real cool kids" of Los Angeles' Silver Lake neighbourhood and includes the lyric, "I am from Silver Lake and therefore I don't give a damn / Don't you know who I am?" This is seemingly intended as a parody of the neighbourhood's reputation as a hipster mecca — perhaps because, in 2015, making fun of hipsters is almost as quaint as being in a leather-clad, hip-waggling rock'n'roll band.
