Three weeks after the tragic attacks that claimed the lives of 89 concertgoers watching Eagles of Death Metal, the band will return to Paris for a performance. It's been reported that the act will join U2 onstage in Paris this Sunday (December 6).
A source close to Eagles of Death Metal told Billboard that the band will perform with U2 during their final song at Paris' AccorHotels Arena. Though it's unclear what they'll play, it's added that Josh Homme, who doesn't always tour with Eagles of Death Metal and was not present during the November 13 attack at Le Bataclan, will likely appear with the band.
Additionally, Billboard is reporting that Eagles of Death Metal are rescheduling the European tour dates cancelled after the attacks, with the group resuming the trek in February.
U2's two-night stand this weekend at AccorHotels Arena was rescheduled following the terrorist attacks on the city, with the band having opted to delay the original November 14 and 15 bookings. The shows are being filmed, and HBO will broadcast their U2: Innocence + Experience Live in Paris December 7 at 9 p.m. EST.
As previously reported, during a series of terrorist attacks on Paris last month, the Bataclan venue was stormed by armed gunmen, with the attack claiming the lives of 89 people and injuring many more.
Since the tragedy, Eagles of Death Metal have given an interview about what they experienced and started a charity initiative asking artists cover their single, "I Love You All the Time." Publishing income will be donated to the Sweet Stuff Foundation, a not-for-profit that "was founded to give assistance to career musicians, recording engineers and their families struggling with illness and disability."
So far, the likes of Savages, the Dean Ween Group and My Morning Jacket have either recorded or performed the track.
