Earl Sweatshirt Cancels Tour Dates Due to Illness

The details are slim, but Odd Future member Earl Sweatshirt has been forced to cancel all of his summer tour dates due to illness.

A press release confirmed that the young rapper has pulled out of all his upcoming tour dates, which included a show with Kendrick Lamar at Toronto's Sound Academy on August 2 and a slot the next day at the Grove Music Festival. According to his press team, "Earl Sweatshirt has been forced to cancel all foreseeable tour dates until he is healthy."

UPDATE: Pitchfork now reports that Earl's reps made this announcement in error and that only the European tour dates have been cancelled. However, there has been no official update from Earl's camp following that report.

These are the latest string of cancellations, which included high-profile exits from Bonnaroo and Delaware's Firefly Music Festival earlier this month. At the time, the rapper had left a hint at his health problems by tweeting, "THE WORST PART OF PNEUMONIA IS THAT IT WONT FUCKING GO AWAY ITS LIKE DUBSTEP."

Yesterday (June 25), the rapper continued: "IM STILL SICK AND THIS SUCKS ASS THAT I CANT MAKE IT TO THESE JULY SHOWS I AM REALLY FUCKING SORRY TO EVERYONE WHO WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO IT."

Despite his health troubles, Sweatshirt also tweeted a rather rudimentary line drawing that may or may not figure as the final artwork for his in-the-works solo album Doris.
