The Elwins

'And I Thank You' (album stream)

Toronto indie pop outfit the Elwins have already generated an impressive buzz, but it was all without having released a proper full-length record. That album-less career is about to end, though, as the group's debut LP, And I Thank You, is heading our way on February 21 and now streaming on Exclaim.ca.

A press release notes that this album presents a "refined version of the band's bouncy brand of '60s-tinged pop rock first revealed on their self-titled EP in 2008." With a bevy of hooks, it's not surprising why these tunes have caught the ears of Canadian listeners already.

The collection was recorded in Seattle, and the band received help from some well-known sources: Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog, Man Man) and Ryan Hadlock (Blonde Redhead, Islands, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks) co-produced the sessions, with mixing courtesy of L. Stu Young (Prince, Sum 41).

And I Thank You recently made Exclaim!'s list of most anticipated Canadian albums of 2012, and now down below you can judge for yourself if the wait was worth it.
