Director Quentin Tarantino hit the San Diego Comic Con this weekend to tease his forthcoming western flick The Hateful Eight. While there, he revealed that legendary composer Ennio Morricone is attached to the film to pen his first full western score in 40 years.
The reveal was made during a Comic Con panel, with Tarantino having told the San Diego that Morricone will be delivering an original score for The Hateful Eight. The music is apparently a work-in-progress, but will be recorded in Prague in a couple of weeks. The film's official Twitter account also confirmed Morricone's participation.
While exciting, this isn't the first time Morricone's music has appeared in a Tarantino film. 2012's Django Unchained featured a piece from Morricone and Elisa called "Ancora Qui," while several previously released pieces from the composer's catalogue were used in Inglourious Basterds, Death Proof and the Kill Bill movies.
Though Morricone's career has been long and varied, the Italian composer is arguably most well known for his work on spaghetti westerns like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
