Explosions in the Sky Return with New LP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 25, 2011

It's shaping up to be a great year for epic post-rock. Mogwai's Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will is coming out in just a couple of weeks, Godspeed You! Black Emperor is in the midst of playing a handful of reunion gigs, and now comes news that like-minded outfit Explosions in the Sky have their first album in five years all ready to go.

A press release reveals that the group have finally prepped a follow-up to 2007's All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone. Titled Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, the band's new full length -- their fifth -- was recorded at Sonic Ranch in El Paso, TX by John Congleton and produced by the band. You can check out the tracklisting below.

Song snippets found on the Texas group's website, as well as below, hint at the collection featuring the same kind of symphonic washes that we've grown to love. That and the fact that these dudes love a good game of street b-ball.

Explosions in the Sky will celebrate their new material with a couple of shows this spring, including their biggest headlining show ever at New York City's fabled Radio City Music Hall on April 6. The group will then head overseas for a quick European jaunt.

Take Care, Take Care, Take Care comes out April 26 on Temporary Residence Ltd.
