F. Gerrard Errante

Errante is a clarinet player and composer who explores the lyrical interface between electronics and free improvisation. Although, duo ballad performances with piano like "Cantabile," "Twilight" and "Interlude" confirm his engagement with the more traditional harmonic continuum of players like Bill Evans, it is in the works that combine clarinet and synthesiser voicing that show Errante breaking radical new ground, from the oscillating dirge of "Innerutterance" to the split tone over-blowing explored in the four sections of the miniature suite "The Widening Gyre."
