Last month, Fall Out Boy teased the arrival of a brand new EP titled Lake Effect Kid. Now, the group have revealed that the release will arrive later tonight.
The band made the announcement through Twitter, revealing the EP would arrive at 12 a.m. EDT. You can find the teaser below, where the band also mentions that the release will "celebrate our biggest homecoming yet."
UPDATE (8/23, 5 p.m. EDT): You can now stream the entire new EP down below at the bottom of the page.
While a tracklisting has yet to be confirmed, bassist Pete Wentz revealed to ABC Radio last month that the EP's release would coincide with the group's September 8 hometown performance at Chicago's Wrigley Field, lending credence to their "biggest homecoming" statement.
Wentz also revealed that the EP will include a full version of a demo titled "Lake Effect Kid," which was recorded around the time of the group's 2008 full-length Folie à Deux. Additionally, Wentz mentioned the inclusion of a "semi-new" song and a "really new" one.
Folie à Deux was the band's last studio album before they went on hiatus from 2009 to 2013. Wentz told ABC Radio that he still has "fond memories" of that era of the group.
"We did a lot of firsts at that time," he recalled. "We went to Macau, we went to a lot of places in the world for the first time, played arenas in some places for the first time, which was really cool."
Fall Out Boy will kick off a U.S. tour August 29 in New York. The band also recently announced a career-spanning vinyl box set.
