Ahead of supporting Oshawa heroes Dizzy on their North American tour, fanclubwallet — the indie rock project of Ottawa's Hannah Judge — has released a new five-track mini-EP of delightful lo-fi magic.
Small Songs, Vol. 1 is now available to stream via AWAL. It follows 2022's You Have Got to Be Kidding Me, as well as subsequent standalone single "Roadkill."
"When I feel the smallest, I turn on my old casio keyboard and I make songs in the dark in my room," Judge shared in a statement. "This is how fanclubwallet started — just me and some crappy gear in my childhood bedroom. Recently I've been writing with my band more which has been amazing, but I wanted to get something out to remind myself of where things started when it was just me and no one else. These songs feel like anxiety bundled up and packaged ready to go, really truly honest fanclubwallet songs. What it sounds like with just me and my silly sad brain behind the wheel."
The EP's scuttling lead single, "Prrrblm," arrives alongside a lyric video featuring the singer-songwriter's artwork, which is also seen on the album cover. Listen to that below, where you can also stream the full collection.
