Father You See Queen

While To Kill A Petty Bourgeoisie had carved out a comfortably dreamy, noisy niche for themselves, they came to an end when half of the duo decided to head back to school. That left Mark McGee looking for a new collaborator and when a friend introduced him to Nicole Tollefson, Father You See Queen were born. This new band are more of a sideways step than a giant leap forward, but that's to be expected on a debut EP. 47 definitely has some interesting ideas, but it's also very much a starting point for this new endeavour. The combination of clanging electronics, which are often on the brink of erupting, with circling layers of female vocals is reminiscent of the Cranes and still incredibly effective, as demonstrated by slow-building tracks like "Tertoma." When they smooth out the rough edges it isn't quite as good but it sounds like they are finding their feet. More please.
