I can hear a little bit of a number of rappers on this record: Ice-T, Eminem (and D12, for that matter), House of Pain, but what I don't hear is the interesting and innovative rhymes that have given all the previously mentioned acts respect. There are some real interesting samples, though, and "Baby Hugh Hef" and "Rock N Roll Gangster" (all 21 seconds of it) are highlights on that front. "Are You Talking to Me" could very well be a summer anthem with its theme ("Smoke the ganja /smoke when I wanna/marijuana momma") and the co-rhyming of Helluva. Jonathan (does this guy ever take a holiday?) Davis lends his vocals on "Just for Now" too, making the disc full of featured guests, but Rock N Roll Gangster can never seem to pull itself out from the "big up to those before me" category.
